Nore og Uvdal is Viken’s mountain-framed heritage basin - a municipality where stave churches rise beside alpine slopes, reindeer roam the Hardangervidda, and grain barns crown the coat of arms. With around 2,500 residents and a landscape shaped by the Numedal valley, Uvdal plateau, and the villages of Rødberg, Nore, and Uvdal, Nore og Uvdal is the kind of place where you can hike past waterfalls, ski into national parks, and still catch a folk tale beside a medieval altar. It’s got wilderness, woodwork, and a name that simply means “Nore and Uvdal.”
