Kvam
Kvam is Hardanger’s fjord-framed orchard — a municipality where waterfalls tumble behind footpaths, cider flows from century-old farms, and art installations glow with sunrise light. With around 8,500 residents and a landscape shaped by the Hardangerfjord, glacier-fed rivers, and fruit-laden slopes, Kvam is the kind of place where you can walk behind a waterfall, ride a RIB boat into a hidden fjord, and still catch a concert in a silo lit by James Turrell. It’s got sparkle, serenity, and a name that comes from the Old Norse hvammr, meaning “grassy hollow.”
