Discover Every Corner of Norway

Berlevåg is Norway’s Arctic edge - a windswept fishing village in Troms og Finnmark where tetrapods guard the harbor and reindeer roam the tundra. Perched on the Varanger Peninsula, this municipality of around 1,100 residents is known for its dramatic coastline, WWII history, and the famously passionate Berlevåg Male Choir. It’s where the Barents Sea crashes into culture, and where the midnight sun and polar night take turns painting the sky.

Getting There

Berlevåg is served by Berlevåg Airport (BVG) with flights to Tromsø and Kirkenes. Hurtigruten coastal ships dock daily, and buses connect to Tana and Båtsfjord via the RV890. Winter travel may require kolonnekjøring (convoy driving) due to snow conditions. The village is walkable, but a car is recommended for exploring nearby hikes and beaches.
