Nordre Follo is Viken’s forest-fringed commuter belt - a municipality where amusement parks roar beside quiet lakes, sculpture trails wind through spruce groves, and stylized pine trunks decorate the coat of arms. With around 65,000 residents and a landscape shaped by the Oslofjord, Sørmarka forest, and the towns of Ski, Kolbotn, and Oppegård, Nordre Follo is the kind of place where you can hike past medieval churches, plunge into spa pools, and still catch a roller coaster beside a Viking burial mound. It’s got greenery, gravity, and a name that simply means “northern Follo.”

Where to Stay in Nordre Follo
Getting There
Nordre Follo lies just south of Oslo, with Ski and Kolbotn as its main hubs. Trains on the Østfold Line connect to Oslo S in under 25 minutes, and buses serve Oppegård, Greverud, and Langhus. The E6 and RV152 highways run through the region. The area is best explored by boots, bike, or bold curiosity - especially if you’re chasing coaster echoes, spa steam, or the hush of birch leaves beside a sculpture trail.
