Frogn
Frogn is Oslofjord’s sunny-side suburb — a Viken municipality where fortress history meets beach volleyball, and Santa Claus gets mail year-round. With around 15,000 residents and a coastline that hugs Drøbak like a postcard, Frogn is the kind of place where you can kayak past WWII bunkers, browse satire in a gallery, and jump off a pier just because it’s tradition. It’s got fjord views, flea markets, and a fortress that once sank a warship. Not bad for a town with a permanent Christmas shop.

Getting There
Frogn is about 40 minutes south of Oslo by car or bus. Ferries run year-round to Oscarsborg from Drøbak’s harbor, and free bikes are available from the tourist office. The town center is walkable, with beaches, galleries, and cafés all within reach. Bring a towel, a camera, and maybe a letter for Santa.
